Chopper

About Chopper

3 year old Chopper is a tiny little Stafford with a big and glowing personality. He is a wonderful, lovable and affectionate dog who is so well-behaved and biddable. This little bundle of joy loves his walks of at least 45 minutes a day and will go as far as he is taken but he is also quite a lazy bones too. Just like most teenagers, Chopper loves his lie-ins and is not a morning dog at all. However, once he is up and about he loves the chance to go new places i.e. the beach or a forest.

Chopper has a real penchant for tennis balls and loves to chase them so a reasonably good sized, secured garden with no neighbouring dogs is required for him. He is such fun to be with and is a very playful little dog with a low to medium energy level.

Sadly, when he was quite young, Chopper (who was on a lead at the time) suffered a serious injury caused when a much larger dog that was off-lead set upon him. Poor little Chopper still has the scars to show for it. Prior to this Chopper had always been dog friendly but, not surprisingly, the event has made him a bit nervous around other dogs now, especially the little, vocal ones. He can walk past them and tolerate dogs at a distance but he will be looking for a family where he is the only pet and who will be able to keep him safe and on-lead at all times. Chopper walks well on the lead.
Chopper can be left for reasonable amounts of time although we would love to find him a forever home where someone is there to keep him company for the best part of the day because he just loves human company and is his happiest when he is pottering around and seeing what people are up to. He is non-destructive and quite happy in his own company for short (up to four hours) periods.

Chopper has a delightful temperament and has been around young children all his life. He can be happily rehomed with one or two children aged 8 years and above, so long as they know how to behave sensibly around a dog and aren't too riotous because he prefers reasonably calm surroundings.

Chopper sleeps well at night in his crate (it's his little den that he likes to go into on his own accord) is fully housetrained and travels well in the car. Chopper's foster family has really enjoyed having him as a house guest - he is a lovely, happy-go-lucky dog who will definitely bring his new family a lot of joy and laughter.
