About JASPER
Jasper is almost 5 years of age and was born completely deaf. His hearing impairment has never impacted him negatively and he lives a very full and happy life every single day. He responds to commands with simple hand signals and was a complete joy to train from birth.
Jasper is truly one of the most loving, tactile dogs known to us. His greatest love in life is to be cuddled up next to people. Whilst he thoroughly enjoys his walks, Jasper can be a bit of a couch potato and just two 30 minutes walk is all he needs to keep him happy and healthy. His energy level is low to medium and he walks very well on the lead. Pottering around the house and lazing around on the sofa are his favourite pastimes, especially if he has human company. It may be because of his deafness that being close to people is very comforting and reassuring to him. Jasper has an abundance of love to give and is a very calm, polite dog.
Jasper would be suitable to be rehomed with another dog who also has a similar relaxed personality to his own and one that will allow him to have his regular naps during the day.
Jasper travels well in the car, sleeps very well at night and is fully trained.
Jasper would be suitable for a family with children aged 8 years and above.
Jasper's ideal family would have someone at home for the best part of the day, although he can be left for reasonable periods of time without becoming stressed and has never been destructive. He is looking for a family that can give him endless love and cuddles.
PLEASE NOTE: Jasper has lived all his life in harmony with Jemima who is also available for adoption on our page. We would love the two to be rehomed as a couple but it is not a requirement for applying to adopt just him because he would also thrive as an only dog.
