KYRO

Soon to be 12 month old KYRO has been in our care for six weeks and what an impression this young pup has made on us! He is affectionate, extremely clever, full of character and like all Staffords, loves to be involved with everything that is going on around him.

Kyro is a very fit and healthy dog and is always in a hurry to get somewhere. We have been working on his lead training but it has been very much 'back to basics' with his training, especially indoors. Learning to focus has been a little bit of a challenge for him, however, he really has come on strides since we met him and we know with the right amount of time and effort put into him, he really does have the potential to be an extremely attentive dog. He is a medium to high energy pup who enjoys lots of walks and adventures outdoors. His new family will need to be as energetic and enthusiastic as he is and it will be a definite requirement that they will be able to afford the time and patience to continue with his training as well as celebrating his progress with positive reinforcement. In return he will reward that dedication with endless affection, lots of laughter and a lifelong loyal companionship.

Apart from snoozing on the sofa after a hard day having fun, Kyro's favourite pastime is being out and about meeting other dogs. He is a very sociable boy and is very well behaved in the company of other canines. On occasions he can be a little be over exuberant but a gentle reminder to slow things down and to demonstrate some manners is all that is needed to get him back on track.

Kyro is very food oriented, which is a wonderful thing. However, he is on a very strict fish-only diet due to a sensitivity to certain foods, especially chicken...even traces of chicken. Kyro is not alone with his intolerance of certain foods; many dogs, especially Staffords are best suited to a fish diet and it can be very easily managed.

Kyro's new family must be willing and able to continue with his training, be fit and healthy enough to go for long walks/hikes, and have an abundance of love to give him. With ongoing training, boundaries and plenty of physical and mental enrichment his future will be very bright.

Kyro travels well in the car, is fully housetrained and sleeps very well at night. He can be left for reasonable amounts of time but is still young to be on his own for extended periods of time, so his new family will need to make sure that he has company for the best part of the day until he has matured and got used to spending time alone for more than a few short hours.

Handsome, energetic, strong and curious, are just some of the words we would use to describe Kyro. He is super Stafford who can be a little bit of a rascal at times but has so much to offer a family that can commit the necessary time, patience and effort towards him.

Kyro has previously lived with a little person and was very respectful of them, making him suitable for a family with a young child provided they can provide ample time to focus on him and his needs as well as balancing family life.

We believe Kyro could live with another canine but it would need to be one that has the same energy level as he has, or at least very tolerant of an excitable, sometimes boisterous young pup who doesn't know his own strength.

Kyro is not suitable to be rehomed with a cat/s.
