Milo

About Milo

Handsome 10 year young Milo came into our care after his elderly owner passed away and is looking for a home similar to the one he had before. He is the ideal companion for someone who perhaps isn't physically able to cater for a younger, energetic dog with high demands or perhaps lives a solitary life and simply wants a pet to keep them company. We know that he will be a very loyal friend to whoever offers him a home.

Milo was born with a soft pallet (something that is not uncommon in Staffordshire Bull Terriers) which means that when he is overexcited he can struggle to take in air and pants a lot. This is why it is very important that he is kept calm and not overstimulated. When this is the case, he breathes normally just like any other dog. Milo is looking for a new guardian who will accept him for the way he is and keep him relaxed at all times.

Milo is a very tactile dog - he loves to be next to someone being petted. He is very snuggly and enjoys his creature comforts like the sofa and a duvet.

Sadly, Milo does not travel well in the car - a very short journey is all he could manage.

Milo is a fit and healthy boy; certainly for a dog his age. He had lots of dentistry work when he first came into our care and like all our dogs, Milo is neutered and fully vaccinated.

Milo sleeps very well at night, can be left for reasonable amounts of time and is not destructive, although he does like to rearrange things, which is his way of tidying up.

Milo walks well on the lead but is a strong dog, so anyone frail would find him a bit too much to walk. Two short (15 minute) leisurely walks a day is sufficient to keep Milo exercised. Unfortunately, he wouldn't be the kind of dog to take to the park or live where there were lots of other dogs in the area because he is very uncertain of them being an only dog all his life. Given the choice, Milo would much prefer chasing a ball and rolling around the grass in a reasonably sized secure garden. He enjoys one-on-one play with his ball but is also an independant dog who likes to potter around and watch the world go by.

Milo is a low maintenance dog - his needs are very little. A quiet, peaceful home with very few visitors and no other pets (either existing or visiting) is all that is needed for our senior boy.

Milo is not suitable to be rehomed with children or cats.

Anyone considering offering Milo a home MUST read through our adoption policy and process before contacting us.

Milo is eligible for our Senior Stafford Scheme (SSS) whereby money is set aside to help with future veterinary bills. Please contact Julie on 07563 368 589 for more details.
