5 year old Nala arrived into our care mid November and what an absolute joy she has been from the moment she arrived. This very sweet and gentle little dog is a very typical Stafford and loves meeting and greeting people. She is typical of her breed and can be a little bit over enthusiastic when she is first introduced to people but soon settles down. Like all Staffords, she longs to be part of a family unit and will truly love any and all attention she receives. We would like her to go to a family that can provide that time, especially if there is already an existing dog.
Nala is a medium energy dog. She loves her walks and off lead exercise in a safe and controlled area. She walks beautifully on the lead and takes very little interest in her surroundings other than enjoying the great outdoors and having a good sniff about. Nala is a complete pleasure to walk and is also accustomed to visiting dog friendly coffee shops and eateries.
Nala is a medium energy dog. She will require two walks a day (am and pm) of approximately 20 minutes in the morning and 45 minutes in the evening. If she is rehomed with another similar energy dog those times may possibly be reduced. A relatively spacious, secure garden is what she will need to enable her to enjoy playing ball which is something else she loves to do. She positively loves her time at an off lead private dog park so this would also be a preferred requirement for any potential family to provide her with.
Nala is fully housetrained, travels well in the car, and sleeps well during the night. Nala can be left alone at home for a reasonable amount of time. We consider a reasonable amount of time to be no more than 4/5 hours a day.
Nala is on a very strict diet with a rated dry food and salmon oil, and cannot deviate from that. She came to us with skin conditions but we have found a formula that keeps her skin healthy and her happy. Normal dog treats and/or snacks (especially human food) are to be avoided at all times although fruit and vegetables are defintely on the menu.
Nala is a very playful dog and we do feel that she would benefit from living with one other dog and will therefore consider a family that already has an existing dog depending on their meet and greets.
Nala really is a dream Staffordshire Bull Terrier and will bring so much love and happiness to her new family. She is well-mannered, polite and very respectful of those around her. Nala has spent time in her previous home with little people but we would like to put a minimum age of any children in a potential household at the age of 8 years unless under exceptional circumstances. By that we mean if there are younger than 8 years of age children it would need to be a reasonably quiet, relaxed home.
Nala only dislikes cats, so sadly she cannot be considered for a family with cats.
